GUIDELINES
- Eligibility: All faculty at an assistant professor level in the United States/Canada regardless of gender, race, ethnicity, religion, and sexual orientation, are encouraged to apply.
- Priority will be given to those individuals that are underrepresented in medicine including intersectional individuals.
- Applications will be scored by committee.
- Withdrawal from the program may prevent future application.
- AAS and SUS membership is not required to apply. Selected non-member participants will be extended a complimentary 1st year of membership for the AAS.
Selected applicants will receive:
- Support to attend the Academic Surgical Congress
- Executive Coaching sessions for 2 years
- AAS/SUS Mentorship for 2 years
- CV auditing and individualized advice based on promotions criteria
- Access to the AAS Early Career Development course
- Access to the Society of University Surgeons Mid-Career Course: https://www.susweb.org/mid-career-course/.

Participants will attend sessions to gain tailored advice from coaches, senior surgical mentors, and AAS and SUS leaders. Sessions will be tailored to individual goals, strengths and opportunities.
For the 2022-2023 calendar year, participation will be limited to 7 outstanding candidates. Please see the application description for requirements. All supporting documents must be received by Monday, July 25, 2022 11:59 PM EST.
